There are great potentialities in Wuhai’s tourist resources, with famous scenery, such as the cliff paintings of Zhuozi Mountains, stone inscriptions of “six-character true statement” in  Wulunmu Mountains, the Magic Chasm ,  Huyang Island, The Yellow River ,shoal island in The Yellow  river and the grassland of west Erdos.

    Five places of Zhuozi mountain cliff paintings have been discovered, of which the biggest one is in Zhaoshao valley, and others are in Shubaiyin Valley, Maoer Valley,and Kucai valley etc. The cliff paintings are mostly the pictures of human faces, animal figures, hunting activities, signs etc, with varied and colorful contents and vivid images, they are rare unearthed cliff paintings at home and abroad.

    The cliff paintings in Zhuozi mountains were done in the New Stone Age ,and are the traces of historical culture of the northern hunting ethnic groups. They have strong color of primitive religion and have a style of their own in craving, particularly, the cliff paintings with human faces are the quintessence  of the human face cliff paintings of China and the world. The cliff paintings have rich cultural intentions and important aesthetic values, so Zhuozi Mountians has become a well-known tourist spot in our country.

    Another scenic spot is the Magic Chasm in Gandeer Mountains and it is called “A Break in the clouds”. The Chasm is about 250m long ,and on either side, the peaks of grotesque shapes tower aloft ,as though they were split and chopped with axes and choppers. The narrowest spot is only one or two meters wide. When one walks through about one hundred meters through, one may see a huge stone happen to get stuck between the two peaks , settling high up in the air, which makes one feel wonderful , meanwhile, adds a shade of mystery to the whole chasm.

    The Yellow River flows through the city gently , naturally forming many bigger and smaller beach islands, of which the famous ones are Lihuazhong flat and Huyang Island both of them are rare islands in Huanghe River ,covering an area of 3500mu. Lihuazhong flat surrounded with green trees, and a long stretch of reed grass, so that it appears a natural view. Huyang Island is famous for its diversiform leaved poplars that mean Huyang trees in Chinese. There is a reach of tall diversiform-leaved poplars that form a green and luxuriant forest, with the river flowing around the island, which  is really a wonderful view of The Yellow River.

    In the neighborhood there are also quite a few tourist spots, and the famous ones are Helan  Mountain natural scenic spot, the Tomb of Western Xia Regime ,the Sand lake and the Tomb of Genghis Khan etc.
